Current faves...

Some things that make my life a bit easier and more enjoyable:)

1. Target's Threshold collection
I did a huge house cleaning one weekend...well WE did it (thanks, Brent)  We cleaned places I didn't even know existed and I went through A TON!  I threw 2 huge trashbags outs of old things (a lot from the bathroom).  I got a new rug for our bath area (where the sinks are), and I LOVE it.  I love a fancy rug in a spot where you wouldn't expect a bathroom or kitchen.  And by fancy, I mean from Target:)

2. Beautycounter Rejuvenating Toner Pads
These smell great and leave my skin feeling refreshed.  I didn't get what a toner was, but it's supposed to even out your skin's pH (or something like that๐Ÿ˜›).

3. Aveda Botanical Face Lotion
This stuff is awesome - lightweight, but super moisturizing.  I have really dry skin, so I can't wash it often (thus, I use face wipes a lot).  This has never made my skin feel tight or dry, and I LOVE the herbal smell!!

3. Beaded scarf necklace
I really want a Roarke or Mignonne...but they're not in the cards with this current budget:(  So, when I spotted these at a boutique, I knew I had to get one!!  They are so fun - dressed up with a fancy dress or just with a plain tee.  I see lots of possibilities:)  The only time I wore it so far, I got so many I think it's a winner!

4. Sunski sunglasses
After having to repair my Costas (and dropping way more than should be possible), I decided to try these.  I can't say enough good things about them.  They are light n the face, really cute, and sooooo affordable.  I may never buy a nice pair again.... They come in lots of styles.  REI and Hollister carry them in stores, or you can order them (best bet).

5. FL GA Line
This album is awesome....perfect for riding around:)

6. Glass Shadow box
I love to keep my jewelry out, so I can see it.  But I don't like it colleting dust or tarnishing, so these boxes are great.  Plus, they look super pretty on your counter or bureau:)

7. New jewels...
And speaking of jewelry, I've been busy making new pieces for Nofo's first Five Points Fall Fashion week.  I admit finding time to make these, and be in the creative mood, is more challenging these days:)  But at the end of the day, I'm proud to be selling these and love making styles that are affordable for everyone.  These pics are AWFUL...and my next big project will be figuring out how to photograph my work:(

Hope everyone has a great weekend - we are keeping it low key at home (Brent is working Saturday), and have no real commitments....soooo glad to relax and not have anything to do ( much as that can happen with 2 kids!)

Wrightsville beach weekend

We just love going to visit the Buchanan's in Wrightsville beach.  We didn't make it down at all last summer, so we were pumped about getting there for a long weekend this time.  The kids had a blast - they all got along, and Merritt had no shortage of people to hug and kiss on her (helping Mama get a break here and there!)  Here are some pics of our trip (because a full recap at this point isn't happening!)

First stop....Tower 7....yummmmmm

coffee with a view

We went out on the boat everyday and while Merritt hated her life jacket (making it challenging), Emma loved it! No surprise here...the girl loves some water.

Mason's Inlet

We had the best weather - a bit windy, but beautiful!

Emma adores these sweet friends!

Bill and Brandi:)

I totally want to do this tiki bar boat ride...

holding hands.....melts my heart

Merritt HATES her life I kept it right next to us and held her was either that or put it on her and have her scream....

When you find a friend that just "gets" you:)

Emma tubed for the first time!  She had a blast!!!!

The markings of a successful weekend!!
Thank you, Buchanan's for a great weekend!!  We can't wait to come back!

Labor day weekend

We spent most of Labor day weekend back east visiting Brent's family.  It was a good visit, and we even got to steal away for an hour or so to celebrate our 11 year wedding anniversary.  (Don't worry, we have dinner plans later this month to really throw down๐Ÿ˜œ)

We drove there is the worst rain storm...and Merritt was overtired and wouldn't sleep in the car, so it was AWFUL.  We almost turned around a few times.  The 2 hour drive took 4 hours....we stopped twice (which didn't really help) and could only go about 35 mph the whole time.  It was torture....

The weather was pretty great the rest of the weekend - not too hot, and the rain had cleared out.  It wasn't quite nice enough to go out on the river, but we were fine just hanging out and visiting.

Brent took me to this place called the Wine Crate for a small was so cute. We ordered 4 flights of wine and a dessert plate.  We sat at the window and watched the waterfront, and just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company...oh, and some peace and quiet.  I need to find a place like this here!

We had to stop for a quick visit to see the Jones'.  Always love our time together:)

Sunday, we all had lunch together then headed back home.

Had to snap a selfie of our QUIET and uneventful ride home....thank God for car naps!

I'm sort of sad because Labor Day marks the end of summer....and while I love routine and need a break from 2 kids (hence, Emma at school!), I miss our lazy mornings and do whatever we feel like days.  This was a challenging summer by far....having a 9 month old and 5 year old is tough...mostly because they don't do the same I always feel torn.  I'm going to miss sun and water, but look forward to the fall, some slowing down, some routine, and celebrating our favorite holidays.

Emma had her first trip to the dentist a few weeks back (I know....judge should have been done earlier...but alas).  She was pretty scared at first, but did great.  Which is good....because we have a cavity and have to go back๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜›

Before the elevator

Bitty Baby makes every trip better!

She had a great time!!

Menchies to celebrate....because it's the obvious choice for clean teeth, right???!!!
